Independent Film New York Monologue Slam Comes to Kumble Theater, December 4

Independent FilmBrooklyn, N.Y. – On the heels of three successful IFNY Monologue Slams at Long Island University’s Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts, a new group of talented actors will perform skits and compete against each other for prizes and the IFNY championship in front of industry judges and a cheering audience.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. The Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts is located at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus on Flatbush Avenue between DeKalb Avenue and Willoughby Street in downtown Brooklyn. Hosted by actor Malik Yoba, from “New York Undercover” and “Why Did I Get Married?” and Miss Black Connecticut USA 2010 Osas Ighodaro, this unique evening of theater is presented by At The Top Entertainment Group, Inc., in association with Kumble Theater, Independent Film New York and The Malik Yoba National Theater. 

Among the talented actors competing live on stage are Carmen Mitzi Sinnott, Vladimi Versailles, Marjuan Canady, Garrett Lee Hendricks, Raqiyah Mays and Kenneth Browning. Industry judges include actress/singer Marishka S. Phillips from “A Different World,” actor Nashawn Kearse from “Desperate Housewives” and “Entourage,” acting coach/casting director Tracey Moore, who has worked with celebrities such as Busta Rhymes, Eve, Ludacris and Nina Sky, and comedian Kevin Brown from “30 Rock” and “Last Comic Standing”.
