LIU Brooklyn Alum Juan Luxama Ordained a Roman Catholic Deacon

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Juan Luxama, a 2009 graduate of the M.S. in Medical Microbiology program at LIU Brooklyn, has been ordained a deacon of the Roman Catholic Church.
Luxama’s ordination took place October 3 at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. The Rev. Charles Keeney, chaplain of LIU Brooklyn, was in attendance.
A student at the Pontifical North American College, Luxama is scheduled to be ordained a priest at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. James in Brooklyn in June 2014.
