In addition, representatives will be on-hand to inform the community about upcoming summer camps at LIU Brooklyn, as well as spring sports that members of the community are invited to attend on campus. Other community partners, including the Transport Workers Union Local 100 (TWU Local 100) and Barclays Center, will also be on hand to discuss and demonstrate wellness.
“The Transport Workers Union Local 100 is thrilled to support this year’s LIU Wellness and Fitness Day. Our union is committed to promoting health and safety not only among our 38,000 members, but also the community at large. We agree that educating our families on healthy eating and exercise habits will create stronger communities,” said Marvin Holland, political and legislative director, TWU Local 100.
“We are committed to improving the health and wellness of the children in our community through long-term, healthy lifestyle activities and physical activity development,” said Gene Spatz, division director, Division of Athletic Training, Health, and Exercise Science at LIU Brooklyn. “Our students are dedicated to achieving this mission, and look forward to participating in LIU Wellness and Fitness Day.”
