Students in the following majors who have taken the Brooklyn Campus Placement Examination and placed into Mathematics 10 may take the Mathematics 10 Exemption Examination: Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Education, Mathematics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, and Respiratory Care. This examination will include polynomials, rational expressions and equations, radical expressions and equations, quadratic equations, exponential and logarithmic functions, and geometry. No calculators, dictionaries, or other aids may be used for the Mathematics examination.

Passing the exemption examination will NOT give you credit for Mathematics 10. It will, however, provide you with the important opportunity to register for a more advanced mathematics class required by your major.
If your major is not listed above, please check with your advisor to see what mathematics courses your major requires. Many majors require Mathematics 16, and a few majors may require Mathematics 15. There is no exemption from either of those requirements.
