Dr. Champion’s current teaching and research interests are in language development and language disorders among multicultural populations. She has made numerous presentations at professional meetings. Dr. Champion was the Principal Investigator on a grant from NIH entitled “Language Intervention Among African American Children”. Dr. Champion has articles and chapters published in various journals and books on language skills of African American children. She is the author of Understanding narrative development among African American children: A journey from Africa to America.
