Born and brought up in New Delhi, India; I started my life as a nurse in 1985. Graduated from R.A.K College of Nursing, New Delhi, India. First job was as an OR nurse in NDMC Hospital, New Delhi, 1985. Public Health Nurse at a Maternity & Child Health Center, New Delhi, 1988-1989. Nurse Educator in School of Nursing, Kasturba Hospital, New Delhi, 1989-1992. Migrated to New York in July 1992. First job as a medical surgical nurse at Victory Memorial Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y., 1992-2007. OR nurse at NYU Medical Center, 2007-2008. Clinical Nurse manager at Mount Sinai hospital, Queens, N.Y., 2008-2009. Assistant Professor at LIU Brooklyn School of Nursing. Clinical Coordinator, Care of Ill Adults, Undergraduate nursing program.
