Description
Dr. Penn founded the Psychological Services Center at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus in 1978 and has been the its director since that time. The Center, which provides clinical training for Ph.D. students, offers free personal counseling to Brooklyn Campus students. In addition to teaching Ph.D. level courses in the psychology department, Dr. Penn is responsible for ensuring the high quality of psychological services provided to student clients by the doctoral student trainees through clinical supervision and by directing and coordinating faculty supervision, recruiting, overseeing and coordinating adjunct supervisors, and conducting conferences with Ph.D. student staff and supervisors. In addition, she sets all administrative policies; oversees publicity and outreach activities, proper maintenance of client files, maintenance of data to be used for descriptive and research purposes; and serves as a liaison between the Center and the Psychology Department, the University administration and other faculty and staff.
