Dance Program

Dana Hash-CampbellWelcome to the Performing Arts Department, Dance Programs!

I am delighted that you are to investigating the LIU Brooklyn Dance Programs. We currently offer two degrees in Dance - the Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Fine Arts - taught by the finest dance professionals in New York City. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) program in dance offers rigorous, conservatory-style training for those interested in pursuing careers as professional dancers in a liberal arts and science college setting. The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in dance is designed to meet the artistic and academic needs of students interested in pursuing professional dance careers, as well as those who want to work in complementary fields as dance instructors, movement therapists, art administrators or other related disciplines. No matter the dance degree program the LIU Brooklyn Performing Arts Department is dedicated to cultivating disciplined, creative, and intelligent artists.

We are extremely excited to have Professor Stephanie Liapis join our department beginning Fall 2013. Professor Liapis holds her M.F.A. from the University of Washington-Seattle and is a former member of Doug Varone and Dancers in addition to being a guest artist with Susan Marshall and Company to name a few. Please check out her bio on the Faculty web page.

Lastly, I want to invite you to observe a class, an informal performance, or one of our biannual dance concerts. Please refer to our calendar page for specific dates and times.

I look forward to meeting you.
