B.S. in Health Sciences
The 128-credit B.S. in Health Science is designed for students seeking entry-level positions in the health field, as well as those interested in advancing their educational and career opportunities in the health professions. Students with an associate's degree or transfer students are encouraged to apply. The B.S. degree in Health Science addresses the needs of a number of health fields that are moving toward mandatory B.S. preparation for employment.
The degree offers students flexibility and a variety of content options from which to choose. Students can create concentrations in a number of areas including business, global health and wellness. As the program grows, other areas of concentration will be considered including: minority health, women’s health, advanced epidemiology, environmental health and global health issues. A track also exists for pre-physical therapy students who are interested in gaining a solid base in the health sciences as part of their program of study. In addition to preparing students for a broad array of careers in the health field, this degree will ready them for graduate work in a number of areas including public health and business.
