Certification Requirements

Initial: School Building Education Leader

Twenty-seven credits of course work, a three-credit building-level internship, a portfolio assessment, an exiting interview, degree completion and successful completion of the New York State school building education leadership certification examination.

Professional: District/Regional Education Leader

Thirty-three credits of course work, a three-credit district/regional level internship, a professional portfolio assessment, an exiting interview, degree completion and successful completion of the written and performance components of the New York State assessment in school district leadership.
