Smoking Cessation Program
Tobacco use is the number one preventable cause of premature deaths. We know that 70% of smokers want to quit smoking but quitting “cold turkey” is not a highly successful method for most people.
In partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Center offers those smokers thinking about quitting, individual support, counseling, and for qualified recipients, nicotine replacement therapy (NRT).

Individuals also can receive online education and support by logging on to http://fmrc.liu.edu/nosmoking
The Center also annually participates in the Great American Smoke-Out, when individuals are screened for eligibility for NRT and appointments are made for support and follow-up.
