What types of clubs and activities are available at LIU Brooklyn?
LIU Brooklyn has more than 45 clubs and organizations from which to choose. Building friendships and professional contacts through shared interests are all part of the way to personal and professional success. Becoming a member of one or more of our many clubs will get you involved in campus life and will help you to cultivate long-lasting relationships with people who enjoy the same things you do. How can I stay fit while on Campus?
Staying fit and healthy is part of the daily routine at LIU Brooklyn. Our spectacular Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center (WRAC) offers spacious facilities for students who reside on campus as well as for those who commute. Keep in shape by doing laps in our eight-lane, 25-yard, competitive swimming pool; play tennis or jog on our roof-top courts and track; work out in our fully equipped weight and exercise rooms; or take an aerobics class. What types of sports programs are available at LIU Brooklyn?
If you are an athlete, LIU Brooklyn is the perfect place to develop your talents. With 18 NCAA Division I varsity teams, we offer the opportunity to compete head on with some of the nation’s best. Athletic teams include: men’s baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and track and field, as well as women’s basketball, bowling, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. What parties and/or events do you have on campus?
Most parties are held in either the Avena Lounge or in Luntey Commons, both located in the Metcalfe Hall building (M-building) on campus. Parties are usually organized by the Student Government Association (SGA), or by various clubs/organizations on campus in coordination with the Office of Student Activities. Evening intramurals are sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and are held between 8:00 -10:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday. Students can enjoy activities such as, basketball, soccer, volleyball and karate. The Avena Lounge also has board games, pool tables, table tennis and other activities for students.
