Admissions Event Descriptions

Blackbird Day

Incoming undergraduate students receive a campus tour from a student ambassador, an information session with an admissions counselors and FREE admission to one of our NCAA Division I Blackbird athletics events. Email admissionsevents@brooklyn.liu.edu for more information and to RSVP.

Express Decision Day

Incoming Freshman students will receive an on-the-spot admission decision if they bring in all application materials. While students will have the opportunity to apply during the event, all are encouraged to apply online prior to Express Decision Day, and should bring in their high school transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, and a personal statement OR letter of recommendation. Group Chats

Graduate Information Session

Prospective graduate students learn about the admissions process from graduate counselors, and have an open forum to ask any questions they might have about the program. Email gradadmissions@brooklyn.liu.edu for more information and to RSVP.

Pharmacy Information Session

Prospective students interested in the Pharmacy program receive an information session from an admissions counselor, a presentation from the pharmacy department and a campus tour from a student ambassador. They are able to speak directly with representatives from the pharmacy department to have their questions answered about the program. Please note that tours of the pharmacy facilities are not available during these information sessions, and are only available during our LIU Day Open Houses. Transfer Information Session

Prospective incoming transfer students receive an information session specific to transfer student population, and a campus tour from a student ambassador. Interested students who have already applied and submitted their transcripts will receive a preliminary transfer credit evaluation. CollegeWeekLive Virtual College Fair

An online, virtual college fair for prospective and admitted students to learn more about the campus. This venue is perfect for our interested out-of-state and international students who may not be able to visit the campus in person. LIU Brooklyn Virtual Open House

The Brooklyn Campus will have an entire college fair dedicated to us. Prospective and admitted undergraduate and graduate students will learn about all of the six schools and colleges at the Brooklyn Campus. They’ll also have the opportunity to hear from our student service departments, and participate in live video chat presentations about everything from academic programs, student support services and campus life. LIU Day Open House

Our twice yearly open house gives prospective and admitted undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to meet with all academic and student service departments within the Brooklyn Campus. Tour our beautiful 11-acre enclosed campus, speak with faculty and administration, get to know the students of the Brooklyn Campus, hear presentations from all departments ranging from academics to student financial services, and participate in hands-on workshops. Take Your Seat Classroom Visit Program

Prospective undergraduate students receive a first-hand look at what it’s like to be a student at the Brooklyn Campus. They will sit in on a real classroom session, receive an information session from an admissions counselor, take a campus tour and have lunch with a student ambassador. Incoming Graduate Students interested in the School of Education’s Department of Human Development and Leadership will learn about the Masters Programs in School Counseling, Bilingual School Counseling, School Psychology, Bilingual School Psychology, Mental Health Counseling; and the Advanced Certificates in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. International Credentials Information Session

This session is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who have studied at a high school and/or university overseas. Mardi Klein, Director of International Admissions and Michael Young, Assistant Director of International Admissions will give you step by step instructions on how to apply to Long Island University with international transcripts.
