Next Generation Entrepreneurship, July 14-19, 2013
Build a business developing and marketing mobile apps. This five-day intensive—part of the LIU Summer Honors Institute—combines technical and entrepreneurial instruction to give you the tools to leverage mobile technology to solve problems—and to turn your solutions into marketable products. You’ll develop the ability to spot business opportunities and capitalize on them. Students should be in excellent academic standing in their junior year of high school (i.e., rising seniors) and must receive a nomination from a principal or guidance counselor. All accepted students receive free tuition and housing.

Career Opportunities in Accounting (COAP)

In partnership with the New York State Society of Public Accountants’ Foundation for Accounting Education, LIU Brooklyn’s COAP provides high school juniors and seniors with a hands-on view of the accounting industry. You will have the opportunity to experience campus life while participating in sessions on résumé writing, etiquette, communication and business ethics. Summer Bridge Program
July 8 - August 2, 2013
Earn college credits this summer while developing five essential skills: writing, speaking, critical thinking, research and creativity. The Summer Bridge Program consists of interdisciplinary coursework and class trips around Brooklyn. At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to showcase your work, and you’ll be eligible to enroll in two tuition-free college courses during the regular academic year. The program runs Monday, July 8 - Friday, August 2, 2013.

Health care professionals are in high demand. This five-day intensive—part of the LIU Summer Honors Institute—will help you to figure out if this rewarding field is right for you. From monitoring blood flow to discussing the impact of HIV on the community to witnessing a cadaver dissection (optional), you’ll have the opportunity to get a sense of the skills, temperament and dedication required to build a career in caring. Experience what it’s like to be a health care professional. Liberty Partnerships College Readiness Program
July 9 – August 22, 2013
If you want to be sure you’re prepared for college, check out the Liberty Partnerships College Readiness Program. Program activities include tutoring, wellness and lifestyle management, educational counseling, personal and family counseling and career and college exploration activities. Supported by a grant from the NYS Education Department and presented by LIU Brooklyn, this free summer program is open to high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors in New York City. It runs from Tuesday, July 9 – Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Apply before June 11, 2013.

MoCADA Apprenticeship Program (MAP)
