In addition to its degree granting programs, Long Island University offers a number of certificate and advanced certification programs that are designed to prepare students for gainful employment in recognized occupations. Effective July 1, 2011, the Department of Education established regulations that require institutions to disclose key information about gainful employment programs to prospective students who are eligible to receive Title IV Financial Aid, which includes participation in the Federal Direct Loan Program.
