BECOME AN INTERVIEWER

Sophomore Year Programs is looking for students to be the host/interviewer for the Inside the Faculty Studio Series. The series is loosely based on the "Inside the Actors Studio", a TV show where James Lipton interviews various actors and actresses about their lives and their careers. We are looking to do the same with Long Island University faculty members and we want student interviewers. Do you have what it takes to be an interviewer?

As an interviewer you would be responsible for researching and creating questions to ask faculty members. Questions must be relevant and appropriate in relation to the faculty member. We intend on having three tapings each semester on Thursdays from 11:00am-11:50am. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership skills, interviewing experience, and to get to know your professors outside of the classroom setting.

Are you interested in being our next featured professor?  During each semester, a faculty member will be invited to take part in an interview/taping about their career path, academic discipline and thoughts on life. The purpose of the series is to give students increased exposure to professors, to help them see professors as people who exist beyond the classroom, to demystify the aura that can surround professors and to help students feel more comfortable reaching out to professors about topics of interest. By hearing about the paths and lives of professors, students may see that there is more than one way to succeed.

The Inside the Faculty Studio series is a recorded show that is posted so that students may watch them at anytime.  Sophomore Year Programs is looking for students to help with the recording during the show and editing the material before we post them online.
