A Professor at Salem State University, she specializes in translation, community service-learning and XIX and XXth century Peninsular literature. Her book, Elegies (New York: Cross Cultural Communications, 2004) translations of the poetry of Joan Alcover, was awarded a publication grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Balearic Islands, Spain for the dissemination of Catalan language and culture. She is presently working with the Catalan poet, August Bover, on translating his collections of tanka and haiku from Catalan to English. A collection of her original poetry, Speak to me Again, has been published by The Feral Press.

She draws her inspiration from the rhythms of the natural world.
