Jonny D Puts Global Warming in the Hot Seat at C.W. Post

Jonny Dubowsky has been described as a cross between Iggy Pop and Al Gore, which will make for an eye-opening “Focus the Nation” event at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University on Wednesday, January 30, 2008.

Jonny D brings his eclectic musical stylings to the C.W. Post Campus to help enlighten students about the effects of global warming and what they can do to support this hot topic. Lead singer of the rock band Jonny Lives and popular on college campuses, Jonny D is an inspiring and passionate musician-activist who engages others with ideas, challenges and solutions about environmental sustainability. A special acoustic performance is also included. 

This event is sponsored by the C.W. Post Student Affairs-Faculty Partnership Initiative Committee (SAFPIC), the Association for Campus Programming and P.E.A.C.E. (Protecting Every Aspect Concerning the Environment)

“Focus the Nation” is a national initiative that raises awareness and encourages dialogue about the impact of global warming and other environmental issues and features several programs on the C.W. Post Campus during January 30 and 31. All events are sponsored by C.W. Post Student Affairs-Faculty Partnership Initiative Committee (SAFPIC) and the Department of Earth and Environmental Science.   

Jonny D Lives will be held in Engelke/Astoria Federal Savings Lecture Hall, Room 119, Humanities Hall at 9 p.m. The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University is located at 720 Northern Boulevard (Route 25A) in Brookville, N.Y.
