Brookville, N.Y. – The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University has opened registration for the Pioneer Sports Academy, a new summer athletic camp for children ages 7 to 17. Eight different sports camps are available, including boys’ lacrosse, baseball, football and basketball and girls’ lacrosse, softball, basketball and field hockey. Each individual camp is held over a one-week period, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at a cost of $450. Children will be grouped by age, skill level and experience.
All camps are led by winning coaches of the C.W. Post Pioneer Division II athletic teams and their assistants and are designed to focus on the skills that will enhance an individual’s talent and ability, while reinforcing the fundamentals of every area in a particular sport. Through demonstrations, drills and positive reinforcement, coaches will provide concentrated instruction that will benefit any athlete, whether he or she is at the beginner or advanced level.
“This is a great way to build a child's confidence while having fun,” said Dorene Angevine, director of youth programs at C.W. Post. “Students who attend the Pioneer Sports Academy will have the opportunity to play and learn from outstanding coaches and staff who know their sports inside and out.”
The Pioneer Sports Academy schedule is as follows:

||Boys Lacrosse and Boys Baseball
|July 5 - 9
|July 12 - 16
|July 19 - 23

Post Summer Day Camp, the Pioneer Sports Academy is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and accredited by the American Camping Association.
