A new TV monitor displays the energy saved with newly-installed solar panels at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
The TV monitor, located in the Facilities Services building, gives a graphic display of how much energy C.W. Post is purchasing from LIPA, how much energy the Campus solar panel system is producing, and the total consumption of the building.
The monitor also displays details regarding how much energy C.W. Post saved per day and per month, as well as how much that equates to in gallons of oil and dollars.
“This is an innovative way for us to gauge our progress as a Campus,” said William Kirker, Director of Facilities Services. “It also makes these statistics available to passersby, reemphasizing our genuine commitment to our conservation efforts.”
