Dear LIU Post Parents and Family Members,

Normally in early December, students would be wrapping up the fall semester and preparing for final exams. But for too many LIU Post students, life is far from normal right now. Hurricane Sandy was enormously disruptive, and some students have reported losing papers, computers, even their homes.

It is critically important for you to know that if your student has been impacted by the storm, help is readily available. Whether the issues are academic, emotional or logistical, LIU Post has the resources available to help students through this trying time and get their studies back on track. Please do not hesitate to contact me or Dr. William Gustafson, Associate Provost for Student Success, with any concern you may have, no matter how big or small. We are here for you. I can be reached at (516) 299-4162 or
