LIU Post to Hold Launch Party, February 1

Kick-off event will celebrate rebranding of University

 Find Out How Good You Really Are. In Celebration of our New LIU Post Image Campaign, we are Hosting a Kick-off! Rebranding Launch Party Wednesday, February 1, 2012 12:30 - 1:50 Hillwood Commons LobbyBrookville, N.Y. – As of January 1, the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University has a new name – LIU Post – and a bold, contemporary new logo, as part of the University's multi-campus rebranding and recruitment initiative. To celebrate the university's new image campaign, the Division for Student Affairs and the Office of the Provost will hold a campus-wide launch party during Common Hour on Wednesday, February 1 from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. in Hillwood Commons lobby. All LIU Post students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

The LIU Post Pep Band, under the direction of award-winning conductor Dr. James McRoy, will kick off the event. There will be refreshments, games, giveaways and raffle prizes. A cake-cutting ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. New print and digital advertisements featuring LIU Post students also will be on display. In the spirit of the university's new messaging statement "Find Out How Good You Really Are," students can learn about leadership positions in Residence Life, Admissions, Student Activities and International Students at a recruitment fair, also being held in the lobby. The Pioneer mascot will be on hand for photo opportunities. The LIU Post Bookstore will offer specially priced merchandise – featuring the new logo—from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festivities will continue into the evening at the Pratt Recreation Center with the "Battle of the Boulevard," as the Post Pioneers women's basketball team play New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) at 5 p.m., followed by the Post Pioneers men's basketball team versus NYIT at 7 p.m. There will be free refreshments and raffles for two 52" TV's.

"LIU Post is proud to share its growth and quality education through a new forward-looking and impactful branding campaign," said Dr. Paul Forestell, provost of LIU Post. "The new initiative is designed to build broader recognition of the value of an LIU Post education, differentiate the institution from its private and public competitors, and continue to raise the university's profile nationally and internationally." He added, "I look forward to the LIU Post community gathering together on February 1 to celebrate pride in our university and our accomplishments."
