Andrew RosmanBrookville, N.Y. – Andrew J. Rosman, Ph.D., CPA, an award-winning administrator at the University of Connecticut and expert in online higher education, became the new dean of the College of Management at LIU Post on July 1, announced Dr. Jeffrey Kane, vice president for academic affairs at Long Island University.

A Long Island native, Dr. Rosman was most recently the director of the Master of Science in Accountancy Program, director of the internship program, and executive director of online education for the School of Business at UConn. He is one of only two faculty members from the School of Business to have been designated a Teaching Fellow, UConn's highest teaching award, and has received two international teaching awards from the United States Distance Learning Association.

He has published 21 research papers in top-tier accounting, management and psychology journals, and has delivered 28 presentations of research or teaching advances to academic audiences.

"Andrew Rosman's experience and innovation make him the ideal candidate to lead the College of Management's programs in accountancy, business, and public and health care administration," Dr. Kane said.  "His extensive background in distance learning is especially important as the university expands online and blended degree and certificate programs."

A Long Island native, Dr. Rosman grew up in Levittown. He graduated from Division Avenue High School in 1976 and Hofstra University in 1980, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting and a minor in journalism. He held positions at Touche Ross & Co. and the Financial Accounting Standards Board before earning a doctorate in business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to lead LIU Post's highly regarded College of Management," Dr. Rosman said. "I am pleased to be back on Long Island, and I look forward to helping LIU Post contribute to the growth and prosperity of our communities."

Dr. Rosman replaces Francis N. Bonsignore, who is retiring after serving as dean of the College of Management since June 2007.

The LIU Post College of Management prepares students for successful employment in a variety of sectors, including public companies, private organizations and nonprofit entities. The College's business programs are accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction shared by fewer than 5 percent of business schools worldwide. The LIU Post Master of Business Administration is rated one of the best in the nation by The Princeton Review. The College's School of Professional Accountancy was the first school of accountancy and taxation in the nation. The Department of Health Care and Public Administration offers the only NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration program on Long Island.
