Homeward-Bound Exchange Students to Gather at LIU Post

Brookville, NY – Their nine-month stays with host families concluded, 671 high school exchange students will gather at LIU Post on Tuesday, June 26 and board buses to John F. Kennedy International Airport for their flights home.

LIU Post is one of five regional hubs around the country for AFS, a non-profit, worldwide organization that promotes intercultural exchange programs. Students from 52 countries who stayed with host families in the eastern United States will travel to LIU Post during the night of Monday, June 25 and travel to the airport throughout the day on June 26.

Similar AFS Departure Day gatherings will take place in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and Seattle. More than 2,000 youths spend the school year with American host families each year.
