The spring semester was barely over on May 27, 2012, when 10 LIU Post students and alumni set out for Tijuana, Mexico to help build homes for disadvantaged people with aid agency Esperanza International. The annual effort, known as Builders of Hope, is organized by the Newman Catholic Community at LIU Post and is open to all who wish to participate. "We will dig, mix cement, lay bricks, and pour cement. More importantly, we will live with our friends from across the border and enjoy their wonderful hospitality," said Father Ted Brown, Catholic chaplain and director of religious life at LIU Post. "We learn about them and they learn about us." This is the 11th year of Builders of Hope. To see a video of the Builders in action, click here.
