LIU Post Athletes Take 1st Place in Academics
East Coast Conference names 158 LIU Post students to Commissioner’s Honor Roll, more than any ECC school for second straight year

Brookville, N.Y. – For the second year in a row, LIU Post has sent more scholar-athletes to the East Coast Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll than any other ECC school.
The ECC announced that 158 LIU Post athletes had been named to the Honor Roll, which recognizes students with a GPA of 3.25 or better. Nearly 40 percent of LIU Post scholar-athletes had a GPA of at least 3.25 during the 2012-2013 academic year.
In all, 979 student-athletes from the 10 ECC schools were named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, a number that has increased for five consecutive years.
East Coast Conference Commissioner Robert Dranoff announced the list of 979 student-athletes who were named to the ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2012-2013 academic year on Wednesday afternoon. The ECC's tenmember institutions continued to increase the number of student-athletes honored for the fifth consecutive year (759 in 2011-12; 678 in 2010-11; 654 in 2009-10; 617 in 2008-09; 613 in 2007-08).
"We are very proud of this impressive list of student-athletes who participated this past year in East Coast Conference athletics and who excelled academically," said ECC Commissioner Robert Dranoff. "They are all fine representatives of their institutions and the ECC in the work they do in their sports, in the community, and in the classroom."
Rounding out the top five ECC schools were Molloy, with 119 student-athletes named to the Honor Roll; Roberts Wesleyan with 114; Dowling with 112, and Bridgeport with 109.
