Olympic Equestrian Bernie Traurig Conducts Clinic at LIU Post

Bernie TraurigBernie Traurig, president of, conducted a workshop discussion for trainers at the North Shore Equestrian Center at LIU Post on Monday, January 7 as part of the two-day United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Trainer Certification Clinic.

As a horseman, Traurig is renowned for not only his riding talents but for his teaching and coaching gifts. As a competitor, he has represented the United States Equestrian Team both at home and abroad on many occasions and reached the top of the sport in all 3 of the International Equestrian Olympic disciplines: Show Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing. 

The North Shore Equestrian Center is the only equestrian facility at a college campus on Long Island. LIU Post has been home to the beautiful horse riding academy for four decades. The Center features a large indoor riding ring, stables and barns, tree-lined riding trails and grassy paddocks. The university’s Equestrian Team competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association against universities such as Columbia and NYU.
