Budkevics Brothers Continue Baseball Careers with Rockland Boulders, LI Ducks

Brookville, N.Y. – A pair of standouts on the LIU Post baseball team, brothers Pete and Bo Budkevics of Deer Park, N.Y., are continuing their baseball careers in New York.
Bo, a 2013 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, is currently playing for the Rockland Boulders of the Can-Am League. Bo was an ECC All-Conference Second Team selection in 2013 and led the Pioneers with 77 innings pitched. He finished the 2013 season with a 4-4 record, a 2.06 ERA and topped the Pioneers staff with 70 innings. In two games for the Boulders, he has 5 strikeouts in 6 innings.
Bo’s brother, 6' 2" pitcher Pete Budkevics, is playing his first season for the Long Island Ducks. He last pitched in 2011 with the Great Lakes Loons (A, Dodgers) in the Midwest League. The right-hander posted a 4-4 record with a 3.39 ERA and five saves in 45 games. He also struck out 71 batters in 85 innings pitched. In 2010, the Deer Park native went 4-1 with a 3.38 ERA in 12 games (five starts) with the Ogden Raptors (R, Dodgers). The 25-year-old played his collegiate baseball for the LIU Post Pioneers and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dodgers in 2010. He is a trainer for Batting 1.000 baseball and softball academy in Freeport, N.Y. and is a student in the LIU Post bachelor’s program in criminal justice.
