LIU Post to Offer More Than 900 Courses This Summer

Summer students outside Humanities Hal Brookville, N.Y. - From mid-May through late August, LIU Post will offer more than 900 undergraduate and graduate courses that are open to current students and visiting students from other colleges.

The Summer Sessions are a perfect opportunity for students to catch up on required courses, improve a grade or take classes that interest them but don’t fit in their fall and spring schedules, said Rita Jorgensen, director of LIU Post’s summer program. The summer program is comprised of three sessions: May 20 through June 21, June 24 through July 26, and July 29 through August 30.


Registration Information

Visiting students can register for summer sessions by completing the “Visiting Student Application Form”. Current LIU Post students can register at my.liu.edu or call (516) 299-2431.

Classes for All Majors, Convenient Schedules

Classes are offered days, evenings and weekends to accommodate students with work or family obligations. Visiting college students will find easy, one-step admission and registration, and a wide assortment of courses that count toward their degree programs at their full-time schools.

Courses range from one to four credits and are generally five weeks in length. Students can choose from a variety of subjects including history, political science, English, business, accounting, economics, forensic science, earth science and much more. One-week graduate institutes are offered in education, art, music, criminal justice and library and information sciences.

College Courses for High School Students

LIU Post also offers opportunities for academically ambitious high school juniors and seniors to demonstrate their potential in college-level courses. Offered at a reduced tuition rate, these three-credit courses look great on transcripts, provide a head start on degree programs at most colleges and universities, and prepare students for college academics. Teachers: Earn Career-Advancing Credits Quickly

More education makes an educator more valuable. LIU Post offers more than 30 three-credit, one-week workshops and institutes, in subjects including art, counseling and development, curriculum and instruction, health, physical education and movement science, library and information science, music, special education and literacy.  See Graduate Institutes at www.liu.edu/post/summer.

Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program for Adults

LIU Post is offering a new bachelor’s degree completion program for adult students that can be completed in 22 months. The 64-credit program is designed for the working adult who has earned two years of college credit. Students take a mix of online and on-campus courses and select from professional tracks in Business or Health Care Administration. Semesters are only six and eight-weeks in length.
