Blood Drive Superstar Wins Super Bowl XLVIII Tickets
Communications & Marketing, LIU,
LIU Post junior Marisa DiSilvestre is one of two lucky winners of the 2014 Super Bowl Host Committee ticket giveaway for charity. Each year, the committee gives away two pairs of tickets to a local charity in the host city. This year, the New York Blood Center was chosen and two pairs of tickets were entered into separate sweepstakes—one for blood donors and another for volunteer blood drive coordinators.
A radiological technology major and NBTY scholarship recipient, DiSilvestre won the tickets after being entered in the latter category due to her dedicated work in hosting blood drives in Plainview and Hicksville (N.Y.) as well as volunteering for Island Harvest’s food pantry project, which helps fight hunger on Long Island by delivering food to people in need.
She plans to take her father to Super Bowl XLVIII this Sunday, Feb. 2, when the Denver Broncos take on the Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
