Bach’s Coffee Cantata Featured Work at Tilles Center’s Music at Hillwood Chamber Music Concert May 4

Music at Hillwood, the afternoon chamber music series at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post, celebrates its final concert of the 2013-14 season on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. with a program that features the Coffee Cantata of J. S. Bach, along with Beethoven’s Clarinet Trio in B-flat major (Gassenhauer), Mendelssohn’s Concertstuck No. 2 for clarinet, bassoon and piano, and Carl Philip Emmanuel Bach’s Sonata for flute and keyboard (Hamburger). To complement the delicious music, coffee, and cookies will be served to ticketholders during intermission. The afternoon’s program will be introduced by Music at Hillwood’s artistic director and host Caroline Stoessinger.
Music at Hillwood introduces some of the finest chamber musicians to Long Island audiences in an intimate setting appropriate to the art form. The roster of performers on May 4 includes soprano Kathryn Guthrie, tenor Gregory Spock, baritone Joshua Jeremiah and Karen Kevra, flute; Igor Begelman, clarinet; Larisa Gelman, bassoon; and pianist Brent Funderburk.
Tickets to see Music at Hillwood Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post are $43. All ticket prices include a $3 per ticket facility fee.
