We have the summer job for you! LIU Post Youth Camps
Our camp seeks to hire individuals who would like to join us in making a difference in the lives of children. All staff must be able to commit to working the entire summer season from June 25 – August 17, (7 weeks of camp and 5 Day of Staff Training.)
Applicants should be flexible, friendly, and comfortable spending their days outdoors. As a member of our staff, you will be part of a team of people who create a positive environment for everyone that lives in our community. We require maturity, a good sense of judgment, and the ability to communicate with children and staff.
*Staff may also select to work after camp.
LIU Post Youth Camp is located on the lovely Long Island University, LIU Post Campus. The program uses all aspects of the site including the swimming pool, computer labs, grassy fields, air-conditioned classrooms and the Winnick Student Center.
Current Positions Available:
General Counselors - Supervise a group of campers, helping campers adjust to camp life and grow as individuals. At least 17 years of age. Must have the ability to responsibly take on a role model position. Desire and ability to work with children in an outdoor setting.
Programs Directors - Training and experience in a specific program area: Arts and Crafts, Computers, Cooking, Dance, Drama, Recreational Room, Music, Nature, Sports. Ability to work with children of all ages. Ability to create lesson plans and order supplies. At least 21 years of age. Desire and ability to work with children in an outdoor setting. Ability to responsibly take on a role model position The knowledge and ability to plan, direct and supervise a camp program and maintain standards that lead to a quality program.
Unit Leaders - Supervise a unit of staff and campers, helping them adjust to camp life and grow as individuals. Work with staff under your supervision to develop their leadership potential. Experience in camping and/or administration. Minimum age 21 years. To plan, direct and supervise campers and staff, in unit and maintain standards that lead to a quality unit.
