Spring blossoms.
On the pathway leading east to Humanities Hall are beautiful October Glory Red Maples. Their latin name is Acer rubrum 'October Glory'. These trees are called "red maples" because of their brilliant red fall color. The cultivar 'October Glory' is especially brilliant from late October through November and holds its leaves longer than the regular red maple. These trees were planted by the C.W. Post Facilities Services Department in 1986 and were chosen because their red fall color compliments the red trim on the nearby Tilles Center for the Performing Arts dome.
In all seasons the LIU Post Community Arboretum is beautiful.
