Terracycle Initiative
Terracycle Initiative

Founded in 2001 by Tom Szaky, then a 20-year-old Princeton University freshman, TerraCycle began by producing organic fertilizer, packaging liquid worm poop in used soda bottles. Since then, TerraCycle has grown into one of the fastest-growing green companies in the world.
The mission of TerraCycle is to eliminate the idea of waste. To do this, they offer national collection programs called Brigades to collect previously non-recyclable or hard to recycle waste in which "upcycle" into new and cool products.
For instance, a chip bag will be upcycled into a backpack, messenger bag, or pencil pouch.

Currently, LIU Post works with TerraCycle as a member of 9 Brigades.
Chip Bag Brigade
We accept any empty brand or size chip bag.

Candy Wrapper Brigade
