Description

Marc Diener is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at LIU Post.  From 2007-2012, he was an Assistant Professor at the American School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University, Washington, DC.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001 from Yeshiva College, Yeshiva University, and he earned his M.A. (2003) as well as his Ph.D. (2006) in Clinical Psychology from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University.  He completed his predoctoral internship (2005-2006) at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center, University Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and his postdoctoral fellowship (2006-2007) at The Addiction Institute of NY (St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, University Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons).  Professor Diener’s program of research examines personality assessment as well as psychotherapy process and outcome.  His publications have focused on attachment, psychotherapy technique, psychotherapy outcome, application of meta-analytic methodology, as well as self-report and performance-based measures of personality. He serves as a Consulting Editor for Psychotherapy, for the Journal of Psychotherapy Integration, for the Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy.  He previously served as a Consulting Editor for the Journal of Personality Assessment.  He has served as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of journals including Bulletin of the Menninger Clinic, The Journal of Nervous and Mental DiseaseClinical Psychology: Science and Practice, Psychiatry Research, Psychotherapy ResearchAddiction Research and Theory, Journal of Counseling Psychology, Psychoanalytic Psychology, and the Journal of Personality Assessment.
