Dr. Anthony Palumbo was a high school English teacher for many years and a New York State Teacher of Excellence. He has published two novels, many short stories and ten professional articles. He has presented at conferences, taught staff development courses at local school districts, has presented writing courses for teachers and has served as a literacy and writing consultant.
Dr. Palumbo was head diagnostician at a university reading clinic and an adjunct at Hofstra University, St. Francis College and New York Institute of Technology before coming to the C.W. Post Campus. In addition to having administrative experience, Dr. Palumbo was president of the first teacher organization to win a collective bargaining election under the Taylor law in the state of New York and was chief negotiator for many teacher contracts. Additionally, he is the co-holder of a United States patent.
Dr. Palumbo’s research interests are in the areas of vocabulary, curriculum development and reading comprehension.
