Description
Heather Parrott received a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Georgia, where she conducted research and taught courses in the area of race, class and gender inequality. She has worked on a variety of policy-oriented quantitative and qualitative research projects, from assessing the impact of Latino immigration on Georgia schools to uncovering effective family-friendly policies for academics. In her current research, she examines the ways in which childcare influences the social mobility of mothers, with a particular interest in low-income mothers. Heather teaches a broad range of sociology courses at C.W. Post, including classes in social statistics, research methods, gender and immigration.
