Students in the School of Health Professions and Nursing benefit from academic programs that have all gone through a rigorous accreditation process to ensure the highest level of standards in curriculum and instruction. Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is the largest programmatic accreditor in the health sciences field. The M.S. in Cardiovascular Perfusion and B.S. in Cytotechnology are accredited by CAAHEP.
National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)
The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is the premier national agency for accreditation and approval of programs in the clinical laboratory sciences. The B.S. and M.S. degrees in Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the Department of Biomedical Science are NAACLS accredited and approved by the NY State Education Department Office of the Professions (NYSEDOP).

Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) is the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D.) for education programs preparing students for careers as registered dietitian nutritionists or dietetic technicians, registered.
ACEND exists to serve the public by establishing and enforcing eligibility requirements and accreditation standards that ensure the quality and continued improvement of nutrition and dietetics education programs. Programs meeting those standards are accredited by ACEND. The LIU Post B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics and post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship certificate are accredited by ACEND.

Department of Health Sciences
Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM)
The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) is an independent accrediting organization whose mission is to serve the public interest by establishing and enforcing quality Accreditation Standards for Health Informatics (HI) and Health Information Management (HIM) educational programs. The B.S. in Health Information Management holds this accreditation.
Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) promotes excellence in education and enhances quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs. The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.
Programs accredited by the JRCERT must demonstrate that they are in substantial compliance with the relevant JRCERT accreditation standards: Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiologic Sciences (radiography and radiation therapy), The B.S. in Radiologic Technology is one of only three accredited baccalaureate degree programs in New York State.
The LIU Post Medical Imaging Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Radiologic Technology recognizes LIU Post as one of only two institutions that provide the four-year radiography program and maintain the requisite high standards required to provide the edification of radiographic professionals.

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health.
CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing. CCNE serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by nursing programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional education and post-baccalaureate nurse residency programs. The programs in the Department of Nursing are accredited by CCNE.
Department of Social Work
Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is a nonprofit national association representing more than 3,000 individual members, as well as graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education. Founded in 1952, this partnership of educational and professional institutions, social welfare agencies, and private citizens is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the sole accrediting agency for social work education in this country. The programs in the Department of Social Work are accredited by CSWE.

New York State Education Department Middle States Commission on Higher Education
The academic programs of LIU Post are registered with the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that is dedicated to quality assurance and improvement through accreditation via peer evaluation.
