Home Inspection Certificate Program

The Home Inspection Certificate Program prepares you to become a licensed New York State home inspector. Learn how to inspect all elements of a home: structural, exterior, roof, interiors, insulation, ventilation, electrical, heating, cooling and plumbing. The program also covers environmental and safety issues, and protocols for detecting, sampling and reporting.

The New York State-approved program consists of 140 hours: 100 hours of classroom instruction one - four and 40 hours of field experience (module five). The program contains five modules.  Students will be tested at the end of each module and must have a passing grade before registering for the next module.  Once all the modules are completed successfully, you can take the New York State Certification Exam to become a licensed home inspector.
