Program Requirements for Continuing Students
- Students are required to complete the Student Teaching Eligibility Portfolio Review and Interview process during the semester prior to student teaching and the Exit Portfolio during the student teaching semester.
- Students are required to complete the Graduate Review, a demonstration of musicianship and teaching skills, which serves as the final examination in MUS 633, Musicianship for Music Teachers.
- Students are required to participate in the Rompertunessm Early Childhood Music Teaching and Learning Partnership Program, an off-campus, guided teaching experience aligned with MUS 651, Elementary General Music Methods.
- The average of grades attained in the approved program of study may be no less than B (equivalent to the quality point index of 3.0).
- In no case may a student enter into student teaching or graduate with a cumulative grade point average below 3.0.
