Minor in Sociology
Undergraduate students at LIU Post who are pursuing a major in another subject area can apply elective courses (21 credits) toward a Minor in Sociology. A minor adds value to your degree and a competitive edge in the job market by providing you with additional skills and enhanced knowledge in another field of study.
A Minor in Sociology will add to any major a practical understanding of how the parts of our dynamic society fit together, the causes of social problems and the nature of social change. In addition to basic skills and knowledge, the minor also covers social theory and research methods.
Students minoring in sociology must take the following courses:

Academic Policy for Minors
No courses for the minor may be taken pass/fail.
Students must maintain at least a 2.25 in the minor.
