Program Requirements
The minimum grade requirement for major courses for enrolled students is C.
To be granted a Certificate in Health Information Management, the student must complete a total of 30 credits.
The curriculum in the Health Information Management Certificate utilizes online, virtual class work and one professional practice experience.
REQUIRED PRE-REQUISITE Courses
Completion of pre-requisite undergraduate course work is required for students to be eligible for admission to this certificate program and in order to meet the requirements for the national accreditation examination as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) offered by AHIMA. Courses must be completed during the applicant’s undergraduate degree or prior to enrolling in the Certificate in Health Information Management.

RHIT Credentialed Applicants
Applicants who hold the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential are exempt from these pre-requisite requirements and are eligible for immediate entry into the Health Information Management Certificate.
