Derrick will make his Broadway debut, in April 2012 at the Minskoff Theatre, playing the lead role of Mufasa in The Lion King. Previously, he played the role for several years with the Las Vegas company. In March 2011, Davis was also the featured baritone at the Las Vegas Philharmonic's Rogers and Hammerstein concert. Davis has had roles in "Show Boat," Earl Wilson Jr.'s "You're It!" "If I Die," "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and "Die Fledermaus." He has appeared in television and cinematic work, including "Dancing with the Stars," "Live with Regis and Kelly," "A Christmas Tale," and Def Jam Records music video, "Love is You." Davis has performed with and opened for renowned recording artists, including Chrisette Michele, Shirley Caesar and Donnie McClurkin.

"My time at Post was both educationally enriching and foundation building. The Department of Music is a hidden treasure, a family that cares so deeply for its members that without it I would not be the performer that I am today," Davis said.
