A.C.E. Program
Accelerated College Entry (A.C.E.) Program
This program provides academically talented high school students with the opportunity to get a head start on their college educations by taking university-level courses in the comfort of their high school classrooms. The Accelerated College Entry Program (A.C.E.) enables qualified high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit at a significantly discounted rate. The credits can then be transferred to the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University and other eligible universities, which helps students to save on college tuition. In many instances, some students can reduce their college education studies and expenses by one year. A.C.E. courses carry dual credit – high school units applicable toward the high school diploma and college credits applicable toward a bachelor’s degree. High school seniors who complete six credit hours and maintain a cumulative 3.0 grade point average are eligible for a four-year A.C.E. scholarship to C.W. Post.
A.C.E. is offered between the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University and select secondary schools throughout the New York area. For more than 25 years, local high schools have participated in the A.C.E. Program. A.C.E. offers a large number of courses in many academic departments. Students apply to the A.C.E. Program through their high schools. Preference is given to students who have maintained an unweighted cumulative average throughout their high school careers of at least 80 in core academic subjects (English language arts, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, and languages other than English).
For eligible high school junior or senior students interested in business, communications, computer science, English, foreign language, mathematics, or another area of our wide range of course offerings, this is a chance to capitalize on a program designed to pave the way for a successful and rewarding college experience.

Michael Fahrbach, Class of 2012

“The A.C.E. program helped get me ready for college. The classes were a little harder than what
I was used to, but they were excellent preparation. For my freshman year at C.W. Post. It was a great feeling to start my college career already having nine credits completed. And the fact that the credits were very inexpensive compared with typical college tuition was a big help for my family.”
