Getting Started: The Application Process

All applications for graduate admission and required documents should be submitted by June 1 for the Fall/September entry or November 1 for Spring/January entry.

NOTE: All application materials from international students (students who are not U.S. residents) should be submitted directly to LIU Post at the following address:

International Admissions Office
LIU Post
720 Northern Blvd.
Brookville, N.Y. 11548-1300 U.S.A.

Your application will be reviewed by the International Admissions Office and the individual academic department to assess your educational accomplishments and to determine your ability to contribute to a vibrant intellectual community and to meet the challenges of a rigorous curriculum.

The submission of a complete admissions application package will ensure that all credentials and supporting documents are matched efficiently, leading to a quicker turnaround on the admission decision. To assist the International Admissions Office in the review of applications, candidates are encouraged to submit all application materials (i.e. letters of recommendation, English language proficiency test scores, resume and personal statement) together in one complete package.

If it becomes necessary to send application materials separately, then please include your name and date of birth on the top of each page that is submitted to the International Admissions Office.

Note: You must submit official documents. Faxed or scanned documents are not considered official. PLEASE DO NOT FAX DOCUMENTS. Applications will not be reviewed until the Admissions Office receives all official documentation. You are encouraged to apply online through My LIU.

To learn more about the individual master’s degrees, doctorates and advanced certificates available at LIU Post, review the Academic Programs: Graduate link on the left.
