I would like to transfer to LIU Post. How do I apply?
The fastest and easiest way to apply is online. The application fee for both options is $50.
When should I apply?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis up until the start of classes each semester. For optimum financial aid and on-campus housing consideration, we recommend that you apply by May 1 for the fall semester and December 15 for the spring semester.
Which transcripts should I submit?
Send official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended to the following address:

If you have completed fewer than 24 college credits, you will be required to submit official high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores.
How soon will I be notified of my Admissions decision?
Your application will be reviewed for a decision by the Admissions Committee upon receipt of required transcripts. You will be notified by mail within two weeks of the Admissions Committee's decision. You may call the Transfer Admissions Office at any time to check the status of your application at 516-299-2900.
How many credits will LIU Post accept in transfer?
LIU Post will accept a maximum of 72 credits from two-year colleges and 96 credits from four-year colleges and universities. The minimum grade required for a course to transfer is C-. Students transferring directly to LIU Post upon completion of an associate's degree may transfer courses in which they received D grades, provided those courses were required for the degree.
When will I receive an official Transfer Evaluation?
Transfer Admissions will mail you an official credit evaluation within two weeks of your acceptance to LIU Post. Your evaluation will updated accordingly if you are required to submit final follow-up transcripts. Preliminary, unofficial credit evaluations may be obtained by prospective students at any stage of the transfer process by contacting the Transfer Admissions Office at 516-299-2900.
How many credits are required for a bachelor's degree?
Between 128 and 132 credits are required to complete most undergraduate degrees at LIU Post. Some B.F.A. programs in the School of Visual and Performing Arts require more.
When do I find out how my transfer credits apply to my major?
Once you receive your official credit evaluation, you may contact Academic and Career Planning at 516-299-2746 to find out how your credits apply to a specific major.
When can I register for classes?
You are eligible to register for classes upon your acceptance to LIU Post. You will register by appointment in consultation with your academic counselor. Please call 516-299-2746 to arrange an appointment.
Do I have to register my car?
Yes. You can register your car with the Department of Public Safety. Your parking sticker must be affixed to your front and rear bumpers (driver's side).
When do I get my Student I.D.?
You are eligible to receive your student I.D. after you have registered for classes. I.D. cars are available at the Department of Public Safety.
Does LIU Post offer services for students with learning differences?

Are there any clubs/organizations to join?
LIU Post is home to more than 70 student clubs and organizations, and there is always something to do on campus!
Does LIU Post have athletic programs?
