The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program

The Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. The Program allows institutions of higher learning (degree-granting institutions) in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the Veteran’s Administration (VA) to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. The institution can contribute up to 50 percent of those expenses and the VA will match the same amount as the institution. In virtually all cases, the full cost of undergraduate tuition and expenses are covered through this program. Long Island University will participate for a maximum of 250 veterans each year at its two residential campuses: LIU Post Campus in Brookville, and the Brooklyn Campus. Visit the GI Bill Web site to see if you qualify.
