Programs & Course Equivalents Guide for SCCC Students

If you are a student at Suffolk County Community College, click on the “Transfer Equivalency Guide” to find the C.W. Post equivalents of courses you have taken at your community college and comparable major programs for transfer.

The “Transfer Equivalency Guide” guide will help you determine how the credits you earned at Suffolk Community College apply to C.W. Post’s bachelor’s programs. This guide provides an index of the many courses offered at C.W. Post and their equivalents at Suffolk.

C.W. Post will accept in transfer a maximum of 72 credits for all courses taken at two-year colleges. The minimum grade for transfer is C-. Students transferring directly to C.W. Post upon completion of an associate’s degree may transfer courses in which they received D grades, provided those courses were required for the degree.

Courses not listed in this guide generally are accepted for elective credit provided the grade is C- or better. Substitutions for core requirements are possible with the approval of the academic major advisor.

To determine the applicability of credits to specific major programs, contact the C.W. Post Transfer Admissions Office who will refer you to the appropriate counselor within the Division for Student Success.

For your convenience, C.W. Post counselors are available at Suffolk County Community College (Selden and Brentwood campuses) several times each semester to provide academic counseling, on-the-spot admissions and credit evaluations.
