Taking its name from an idea found in the novel Moby-Dick, Loomings is an annually published, full-color magazine featuring the creative talents of LIU Post students. It also serves as a training ground for students who might be interested in pursuing careers in editing, publishing, graphic design, advertising, and any other aspect of the collaborative creative process. All undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged not only to submit material for publication, but also to work in areas such as design and layout, as well as poetry, fiction, art, and photography. No prior experience is necessary. Submissions are due every March.
There are a variety of ways to get in contact with Loomings or make submissions.
- E-mail: LoomingsCWP@gmail.com
- Leave your submissions in the Loomings mailbox behind the Hillwood Information Desk
- Attend a Loomings meeting during the school year: Tuesdays, 5 p.m., Hillwood Commons, room 198
- Drop submission in our drop-box on the server in the Digital Art & Design lab in Humanities Hall
All literary submissions may be submitted in .doc format and must be approximately 300 words or less. All non-literary submissions may be submitted in .jpeg or .tiff format and must be in high resolution (300 dpi).
