M.S. in Library and Information Science

In a world transformed by information, an M.S. in Library and Information Science will prepare you for careers as librarians, archivists, records managers and information officers. Accredited by the American Library Association, the 36-credit master's degree fuses traditional library science with information science and state-of-the-art technology. The Palmer School offers a broad array of electives tailored to individual career objectives. Graduates of this highly reputable program pursue positions in the education, corporate and government sectors. For your convenience, LIU Brentwood students can also take classes at Long Island University’s LIU Post campus in Brookville or at the Bobst Library at NYU in Manhattan. LIU Brentwood students are required to take at least one three-credit course at LIU Post.

Take Classes at Multiple Campuses

Thanks to LIU's collaborative process, once you have enrolled in the Palmer School you can take classes at other campuses in the LIU system. The Palmer School offers courses at LIU Post in Nassau County, LIU Brentwood in Suffolk County and at NYU's Bobst Library in Manhattan. Some courses are also offered online.
